Borage Oil

Borage Oil is extracted from the seeds of Borago officinalis (an annual bristly herb originally indigenous to the mediterranean region). It is then refined
and deoderised. The main fatty acity in borage is Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) typically in concentrations of 17 – 20%. Borage is well known as being
one of the richest sources of essential fatty acids that exists in nature which makes it useful to help ease sunburned and mature skin. Typically,
Borage Oil is diluted with other carrier oils due to the price and oily residue.

Common uses: Borage Oil is a very popular, all purpose carrier oil. It is used by manufacturers, aromatherapists, and massage therapists.

Consistency: Typical and characteristic of carrier oils

Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin.

Cautions: Borage Oil is not recommended for use in pregrancy.

Shelf life: Borage oil is quick to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 3 to 6 Months with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight).
Refrigeration after opening is recommended.
