Birch Tar (Bi-Rectified)
Ingredients: Betula Pendula Twig Oil
Major constituents; Cresol, Guaiacol, Creosol, Pyrocatechol and Xylenol
Birch tar’s activity comes from its rich variety of phenolic compounds which are antiseptic in nature. Our oil has been rectified (or purified) twice to help make it pure enough for skin use. At high levels the active phenol components of this oil can become very irritating to the skin and as such we do recommend taking care when using this oil and to avoid it for sensitive skin.
USES: Birch tar is typically used for its antimicrobial properties and can be useful
CAUTION: The oil may be very thick and dark in colour.
