CAS number: 10043-35-3.

Formula: H3BO3 or B(OH)3)Weak acid, soluble in water.

Boric acid can be used in many situations and has many uses.

A week solution can be used as an Antiseptic.

Used in home-made ant and cockroach killer recipes ( see recipe below)

Used as a trace element fertilisers plus hydroponic nutrients as well as fungicide,

Also used in preservation of hides and as a flame retardants.

Recipe for Ant Killer;

This was given out on the Radio Live Kitchen & Garden show.

Sweet Bait for ants
600 mls water
30 grams sugar
60 grams honey
60 grams borax
60 grams boric acid
Put all this together and heat to make a syrup. You can use a disposable container and heat in microwave gently.
Place some of the mix in a little pot with a hole in the lid if you want to stop the bait drying out or on an old jar lid does just as well and place where the ant trails are.

Protein Bait for Ants
650 grams peanut butter
50 mls cooking oil such as Rice Bran, Sweet Almond oil.
60 grams borax
60 grams boric acid
Mix well so that all borax and boric acid is dissolved. Place in a pottle or old jar lid.

Warning: Poisonous.

Keep out of reach of children

Do not ingest. For external use only.
