Carnauba Wax

Carnauba wax is exuded from the leaves of the Brazilian palm tree known as Copernica Cerifera. Also referred to as the “Tree of Life”, local Brazilians use many of the trees’ produce for various necessities.

• High Melting point: Carnauba wax is yellow in colour .  It is the hardest natural wax in the world and can raise the melting point of cosmetic formulas. Often included in cosmetic formulations as it also acts as emulsifier or thickening agent in products make-up such as lip balms, mascaras, eyeliners, foundations and eye shadows.
• Warm gloss: Used in car wax and furniture polish.  It develops a wet-look dimensional shine that synthetic polymers don’t replicate.
• Hydrophobic shield: Carnauba wax repels water, water will bead off it.  It is more like candellia wax than beeswax.
