Lip / Body Balm Base Vegan Unscented

Melt & Pour Multipurpose Body & Lip Balm Base (Vegan)

We are proud to introduce a new natural base for manufacturing a solid skin or body balm as well as a soft balm base. Applications for the solid balm base include insect repellent sticks, deodorant sticks, and emollient balm sticks for therapeutic use such as rough elbow and foot skin treatments. Simply add your choice of vegetable oil, vegetable butters, skin vitamins or essential oils to our M&P base to produce their very own therapeutic solid body balm. In addition to the solid balms, a softer lip balm can be made or a petrolatum type balm (Vaseline).

This amazing base allows you to add a range of your own ingredients into a balm with the therapeutic properties that you require.

Instructions:

Solid Balm:

Weigh out your required quantity of base into a stainless-steel pot and place on a stove.

Heat until 80% of the base is melted. Remove from heat and stir until the balance of the base is melted.

For a hard stick, add 20% to 25% vegetable oil or butters and pour into a twist stick applicator.

NOTE: This is a hard base and it is recommended that at least 20% oil is added.

For a softer lip balm, add up to 50% of your favourite vegetable oil plus any other oil soluble components you may want to add e.g. vitamin e, essential oils etc.

Heat until 80% of the base is melted. Remove from heat and stir until the balance of the base is melted. Add your additives and stir util all ingredients are dissolved. Pour into a suitable pot or jar.

Hydrogenated Coconut Oil

Sunflower Oil

Fragrancing: Try 5 to 8 drops of essential oil or fragrant oil to 50g of Lip Balm if a different aroma is desired. The options are
endless with this product, be creative and experiment with your favorite oils.

Colouring: Make a dilute solution of oil soluble food colours in Jojoba oil. Try 1 to 5 drops of dilute colours to 100ml of melted Lip Balm.
